About “Vatika Specia School”
Vatika special school for Children with Hearing and Speech Impairment is a special needs school located in Sector 19-B Chandigarh. The school is a venture of the Punjab I.A.S. Officer’s Wives Association (PIOWA). This Association is a registered body with its own constitution and bylaws. It is a voluntary welfare organization which has a large group of dedicated members who contribute their time and efforts to its activities. It undertakes charitable and philanthropic work on a voluntary basis for the welfare of children, specially hearing and speech-impaired children. The association started the Vatika Special School at Karuna Sadan, Sector 11-B, Chandigarh in the year 1991-92. The main focus of the school is to make students with special needs independent and self-sufficient so that they can lead a dignified life. Their ultimate rehabilitation in society is the cherished goal of the organization.
